Following these instructions is essential to get maximum results from your Spartan Penis Pump. Please read over everything at least once before your first use.
Each Spartan Pump package contains the following:
• (1) Spartan cylinder tube with easy air-release valve (measurements: 7.87" (20 cm) x 2.04" (5.2 cm))
• (1) Spartan manual or automatic pump head
• (2) Adapter bushings
• (1) Loading cone
• (3) Constriction rings (sizes: A, B & C)
• (1) Tube of water-based lubricant
• (1) Storage bag
• (1) Spartan user manual
• Wash your Spartan Pump using warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
• It is necessary that your pubic area is reasonably well-trimmed - this is required to make a tight vacuum seal against the body.
• Do not use constriction rings until at least 75 days after prostate surgery.
• The Spartan pump can be used therapeutically without the constriction rings by keeping the pump in place with a vacuum seal around the penis for up to 10 minutes.
• To maximize your recovery results, this should be performed three times per week, up to 10 minutes each session, for eight consecutive months following surgery.
• This therapy can begin 30 days after prostate surgery.
• You can find more detailed instructions in this program.
A constriction ring (sometimes called a tension, support, or penis ring) is crucial if you use your pump before sexual activity. It ensures you maintain an erection after pumping.
Once you set the ring, you can wear it for up to 30 minutes while proceeding with sexual activity.
Do not wear a constriction ring for longer than 30 minutes, or permanent damage can occur.
• Never wear a constriction ring for more than 30 minutes. If worn longer, permanent damage is possible.
• Removing constriction rings may be difficult for men with low hand strength.
• All users should apply a water-based lubricant to help remove the ring.
• Allow at least 60 minutes of rest between constriction ring sessions.
• Do not fall asleep wearing the constriction ring.
• Do not use a constriction ring under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Skin Bruising/Petechia:
• Use of a constriction ring may cause bruising or blood vessels to break below the skin's surface.
• These tiny reddish spots are known as petechia and are not cause for alarm - they usually heal within a week.
• If petechia does not heal within a week or is otherwise severe, please consult your doctor.
Constriction Ring Maintenance:
• A constriction ring is effective for 50-100 uses without losing tension. Once a ring loses tension, you should replace it.
• Oil-based lubricants (such as petroleum jelly) will damage constriction rings. Only use water-based lubricants on the rings.
Attach the pump head to the cylinder tube on the side closest to the air release valve.
Attach the cone to the opposite side of the cylinder. (If the adapter bushings are pre-inserted, please remove them, then set the cone on the cylinder.)
We recommend that you choose the size B ring for your first use. Start by sliding the constriction ring over the loading cone onto the cylinder. Use the supplied water-based lubricant on the tip of the cone to help slide the ring onto the cylinder. Then remove the cone.
The Spartan pump includes two adapter bushings that fit different sizes. Select the adapter bushings that create the best fit around the base of the penis.
Locate the air release valve and push it in before using the pump. This action will help statically connect the valve to the tube and prevent air from releasing prematurely.
Apply water-based lubricant to the base of the penis and the inside of the cylinder tube/adapter bushings. This lubrication will help form a tight vacuum seal and prevent your penis from sticking to the sides of the cylinder. As stated elsewhere, we recommend that you trim your pubic hair before using the Spartan Pump.
Insert your penis into the cylinder tube and apply slight pressure towards the body. Note that standing up will improve the vacuum seal.
Press the cylinder towards the body and start to pump. When using the manual pump head, hold the cylinder with one hand and press down on the pump head with your other hand (towards the body) to create a vacuum in the cylinder. Two to four pumps will make a low-level vacuum seal against your body. Wait several seconds while keeping the pump pressed on your body. This pause gives your body time to pull in blood flow naturally. Repeat these steps several times until you trigger an erection. In most cases, pumping for 1-2 minutes is sufficient to produce an erection.
Press the cylinder towards the body and start to pump. When using the automatic pump head, hold the cylinder with one hand and press the red power button with your other hand for several seconds to create a low-level vacuum seal against your body. Next, wait several seconds while keeping the pump pressed on your body. This pause gives your body time to pull in blood flow naturally. Repeat these steps several times until you trigger an erection. In most cases, pumping for 1-2 minutes is sufficient to produce an erection.
After triggering an erection with the pump, slide the constriction ring off the cylinder tube onto the base of the penis. Again, do not wear the constriction ring for more than 30 minutes.
Release any remaining air pressure by pressing the air release valve towards the body. Now you can proceed with sexual activity.
Remove the constriction ring (after no more than 30 minutes) by pulling the tabs out and away from the body.
After pumping, it's essential to rest and enjoy the aftermath of sexual activity.
Remember to take at least a 60-minute break between pumping sessions when using the constriction rings.
• If you take large quantities of blood thinners or aspirin, consult your doctor before using a penis pump.
• If you have Sickle Cell Trait, Sickle Cell Disease, prolonged erections, or other diseases associated with changes in blood clotting, do not use a penis pump until consulting a doctor.
• Penis pumps should not be painful or decrease sensation. Discontinue use or release air pressure immediately if this occurs.
• Penis pumps may cause bruising or blood vessels to break below the skin's surface, known as petechia.
• This condition is common and usually heals within a week. Do not be alarmed if this occurs. You may continue to use a penis pump unless the petechia is severe.
• If petechia does not heal within a week or is otherwise severe, please consult your doctor.
